Welcome to Eco Rental Car. By reserving, renting, or operating a vehicle through our services, you agree to comply with the following Terms & Conditions. Please review them carefully before booking.
1. Eligibility
- Renters must hold a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age (minimum 18 years in New York, subject to applicable surcharges).
- A major credit card in the renter’s name is required for the security deposit. Debit cards may be accepted only under additional verification requirements.
- International renters must provide a valid passport, driver’s license, and, where required, an International Driving Permit (IDP).
2. Reservation, Payment & Booking
- A $300 booking deposit will be held on the credit card at the time of reservation.
- Only credit cards are accepted for payment and deposits.
- Full rental charges, including taxes, fees, and surcharges, are due prior to or at the commencement of the rental period.
- A pre-authorization or security hold will remain in place for the duration of the rental.
3. Insurance & Liability
- Renters are financially responsible for all damages, theft, or loss unless valid insurance coverage applies.
- Renters may rely on their personal auto insurance or credit card rental coverage, subject to verification.
- Eco Rental Car offers optional insurance coverage at an additional fee.
- Failure to maintain valid coverage may result in full financial responsibility for loss or damage.
4. Vehicle Use Restrictions
- Vehicles may not be used for:
- unlawful activities,
- off-road driving,
- racing or reckless driving,
- or subleasing/transfer to unauthorized operators.
- Only authorized drivers named in the rental agreement may operate the vehicle.
- Smoking in vehicles is strictly prohibited. Violations will incur professional cleaning fees.
- Renters are liable for fuel costs, tolls, parking violations, and traffic infractions incurred during the rental period.
5. Mileage & Fuel Policy
- Certain rentals may carry mileage restrictions. Exceeding such limits will result in additional charges.
- Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup (typically full-to-full). Refueling charges apply otherwise.
6. Vehicle Return Policy
- Vehicles must be returned to the designated location and by the agreed return time. Late returns will result in additional fees.
- Early returns are permitted but do not guarantee any refund for unused rental days.
7. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
- Cancellations made 24 hours or more prior to pickup qualify for a full refund.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of pickup are non-refundable.
- Failure to appear without cancellation (“no-show”) will result in a charge equivalent to up to one day’s rental rate.
8. Vehicle Condition, Damage, Accidents & Breakdowns
- A video inspection will be conducted before pickup and after return to document vehicle condition.
- In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately notify Eco Rental Car and local authorities.
- Renters are liable for all damages unless covered by purchased or verified insurance.
- Emergency roadside assistance is available; fees may apply depending on the circumstances.
9. Limitation of Liability
- Eco Rental Car shall not be held responsible for any personal property left in the vehicle.
- Liability for any claims, damages, or losses is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Governing Law
- These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey (and the laws of New York, where rentals are conducted there).
